Decluttering has often been associated with the Japanese. In the 90's minimalism gained new popularity in the west.
The way we face this decluttering of our lives today is by simpler means than the extremes of previous societies. Do I continue to purchase new things? Should I get rid of Facebook and Twitter? Should I watch TV?
These things are often simply accepted. The price you pay though is of your time, of your ability to do more meaningful tasks, and of your freedom.
