Leaving her house to get away from it all, she seeks somewhere remote. She drives without thought until, hitting an unexpected bump in the path and realises; she is completely fucking lost. El shito. She stops the car and gets out. Standing on the roof she looks for a landmark through the woods - a light, a sign of human activity of any sort. There is something that stands out. She pushes back branches, occasionally turning back to make sure she doesn’t lose sight of the car. She steps on something hard and it echoes deep, deep beneath her. Under the leaves and fallen bark is black metal. Out here where there’s nothing. She pushes back the leaves to see it and begins to read what’s written. At the base - “You have to build your own monument – or dig your own pit.” On her knees, she looks ahead, if this is the pit, ahead must be a monument, whatever she was looking at from her car roof. She can see an outline of it ahead, taller than she is and blocking any way forward. She moves toward it. She clambers up on it to sit, her legs well of the ground, covered over, with not enough height to stand inside. Looking through the solid bars to see there's nothing here. Alone in a cage, not locked in, but with nowhere to go.
